Several prominent Congress leaders, who have jumped into TDP, sensing their party’s fortunes diluting in Andhra Pradesh, are now seems to be discontent and unable to sail with TDP leadership. In Congress party they were accustomed for lot of freedom. As the party high-command sits in New Delhi, here they can’t be so submissive to others like in TDP.
Veteran leaders like JC Diwakara Reddy and Rayapati Samasiva Rao, who succeeded to become MPs by joining TDP just before 2014 polls, also unable to have any say in TDP affairs. Leaders like Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Devineni Nehru, who have joined during last one year, also confining to their homes.
These leaders, who used to have rapport with national leaders in New Delhi, unable to sail with `pretty’ leaders here. A senior leader said that “I have no problem to meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and to abide to his directions. But expects me to sail with his son Lokesh and need to try to be in his good looks seems to be impossible”.
To ensure easy succession in the party, Chandrababu Naidu nowadays seems to be intentionally encouraging leaders to sail with Lokesh. To make his son comfortable, he is reportedly keeping all senior leaders away from the focus. It would be easy for Lokesh also to sail with `new generation’ leaders.
Lokesh is seen more accessible to children of senior leaders and encouraging them to take more active part. That’s why Anam brothers- Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and his brother Vivekananda Reddy, who had aggressively countered opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy after joining TDP, are now seen maintaining silence.
In Vijayawada, Nehru also said to be in second thoughts on his continuation with TDP. Moreover, local TDP leaders are said to be maintaining `distance’ with former Congress leaders and psychologically unable to adjust with them, as for most of their life they were accustomed with anti-Congress politics.
