In an outrageous incident occurred at Rao’s High School in BHEL Hyderabad, a girl studying in the fifth standard was made to stand in the boy’s toilet by her physical education teacher, for not wearing her uniform. The teacher did not listen to the child’s explanation, even though the parents wrote a note in the student’s dairy, explaining why she was not wearing her uniform.
The Sanga Reddy DEO Vijay Kumari and Ranga Reddy DEO Satyanaryana Reddy probed into the incident on Monday and said that the school will be closed due to lack of permits.
After the parents reached out to the Principal, the school authorities remained indifferent. In his letter to the principal, the father quoted “This act of abuse has had a very bad impact on my child and damaged the personal dignity of my child. She came home and burst out crying, while explaining the incident”
They approached the Child Rights Association following which Telangana government ordered an inquiry. Minister K T Rama Rao condemned the inhuman act and tweeted that he Will take it up with Minister of Education for appropriate action on the school.
In the past, the school was shut down twice after notices were issued. DEOs said that as per the regulations of the Children’s Rights Act, action will be taken on the school management.
