YSR Congress leader RK Roja recently said that she became MLA because of the TV show Jabardast. One of the top-rated shows, Jabardast undoubtedly helped her to reach out to most of the families on Thursday and Friday through the small screen.
Likewise, Junior NTR became a household name with Bigg Boss Telugu. His show was among top charts which reportedly had 4.5crore viewers. This evidently ascertains the strong fan base of the Jai Lava Kusa actor.
While Telugu Desam Party is reaching out to people through massive outreach programme ‘Intintiki TDP’, Tarak with just one big show proved his mettle.
Tarak time and again expressed aversion towards politics specifically after his political stint for TDP in 2009 election campaign. With Nara Lokesh’s entry into politics, the actor was also sidelined completely.
But with the success of Bigg Boss Telugu, his father also TDP Leader Hari Krishna reportedly requested Tarak to campaign for the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. However, Tarak allegedly denied his father’s request.
Consequently, there is discomfort among the TDP leaders and the topic of marching into elections with/without NTR’s charisma has become a topic of deliberation.
