This Summer is going to be a crucial one for Tollywood. Many big ticket films are lined up to hit the screens in the next couple of months. Akkineni Nagarjuna bagged the first hit of the Summer with his recent release, Oopiri. Pawan Kalyan’s Sardar Gabbar Singh has thoroughly disappointed the trade circles and most of its distributors are staring at huge losses. Manchu Vishnu Edho Rakam Aadho Rakam is releasing today and Allu Arjun’s Sarrainodu is releasing on April 22nd.
It will be a jam-packed May with films like Brahmotsavam, A..Aa, Supreme and Suriya’s 24 will be vying for box office success. All these films are slated to release in successive Fridays starting from May 6th. They are currently on the verge of completing their shoots and the release dates are yet to be officially announced.
Also there are a few low and medium budget films gearing up to hit the screens in May. It would be very difficult for the distributors to get a considerable screen count as all the big budget films are releasing with in a less span of time. Considering the heavy releases, a couple of films have been pushed to June.
So far, 2016 is a decent year for Tollywood with encouraging success ratio. Films like Nenu Shailaja, Soggade Chinni Nayana, Nannaku Prematho, Run Raja Run, Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha, Kshanam, Oopiri etc have performed well at the box office.
