Congress deputy leader B. Jeevan Reddy today demanded to hand over Nayeem’s case to CBI for thorough probe. Participating in a discussion on his encounter, he said in Telangana assembly that he has links with Pakistan terrorists and his crimes were spread to several states.
After Chief Miniser K Chandrashekar Rao making a statement in the Telangana assembly on the encounter of former Naxalite and gangster Nayeemuddin, known as Nayeem in August this year, the former minister also demanded the government to reveal Nayeem’s dairy, laptop, pen drive and video tapes whether to the judge or may be shown to opposition leaders in the presence of Speaker.
Accusing eight MLAs and 4 MLCs too having relations with him, besides some senior police officers, Reddy sought that all those connections should be exposed. He said that Nayeem’s episode should be a lesson to the police how disastrous would be for them to use a reckless criminal as informer.
Earlier, Chief Minister said that till now it was revealed his involvement in as many as 27 murders and his gang’s involvement in 25 more murders. The registration value of assets seized from him is Rs 143 crore, including more than 1,000 acres of land.
He said that a SIT was constituted to go into depth of his crimes and till now 174 cases were registered. As many as 741 witnesses were examined and 124 people were arrested. Already two charge sheets were filed in these cases and 15 more charge sheets would be filed soon, he added.
Stating that people are happy with this encounter and after his death many victims are coming forward to depose. The Chief Minister assured that however big may be no one will be left if found involved in these crimes. Alleging that his crimes were allowed ruing 10 years of Congress regime, he said let us move forward by not allowing such evils without politicising.
