Superstar Rajinikanth’s next outing Kaala is one film that is hot in trade. Rajinikanth’s look as gangster created huge buzz but unfortunately, the film’s Telugu rights are yet to be sold. With couple of top Tollywood producers quoting decent prices between Rs 30 -33 Cr for the Telugu theatrical rights, the makers of Kaala felt that this is quite low. With Kabali not doing well across Tollywood circles and with Mahesh’s Bharat ane Nenu, Allu Arjun’s Na Peru Surya releasing around, Kaala lacks the huge buzz that Kabali attained.
The makers of Kaala have been expecting Rs 40 crores through the Telugu theatrical rights which is high. They firmly believe that the teaser will bring out the much needed buzz after which the Telugu rights will be sold out. Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films bankrolled Kaala which is currently in final stages of post-production. Rajinikanth plays a Mumbai based gangster in the film and Nana Patekar, Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani and Anjali Patil are the other lead actors. Kaala has been announced for worldwide release on April 27th all over. PA Ranjith is the director.
