Previous, the government made it compulsory for medical students to work in government hospitals after completing their academic course. The students had to work for 1 year in govt. hospitals, if they want to get their educational qualification details to get registered with the government. Many student organizations have been refuting the clause.
Finally, Telangana CM KCR announced that the government will be removing the clause. Though there are no ongoing agitations or strike by Judas (Junior Doctors), KCR’s decision took everyone by surprise.
From this year onward, the Medical PG students need not work in the government hospitals for 1 year, to get their details registered with the government.
Sources close to the CM office stated that out of sympathy the CM has taken this decision. Speaking on the matter, ‘the state government is currently employing staff on a regular basis. Hence, there is no need for the medical students to work in the government hospitals hereafter,’ said KCR addressing the Health Department officials.
The CM also stated the government will pass a bill in the upcoming assembly sessions.
