The spiritual wedding of Goddess Sita with Lord Rama on the auspicious occasion of Sri Rama Navami was celebrated with religious fervour at Bhadrachalam. The Sita Rama Kalyanam was conducted today officially by the Government of Telangana. But the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s absence was felt by the devotees. On behalf of the Government, endowment minister Indra Karan Reddy fulfilled the tradition of offering silk clothes. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari offered “mutyala talambralu”.
Locals pinned hopes to catch a glimpse of the Chief Minister who has not been visiting the temple for quiet sometime now. Due to ill health, KCR could not attend the programme but his family members visited the place in the CM’s convoy. This drew flak from few devotees who felt that the endowment department was treating KCR’s grandson Himanshu like the CM himself. Himanshu was seen offering clothes to the deities on behalf of his family. Several devotees offered religious services to at Bhadrachalam along with their families. Governor ESL Narasimhan will attend the Coronation of Lord Sri Rama on Thursday.
