Hyderabad: Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday opined that “laddus” might get rotten but the money (financial development package) given by the Centre to Andhra Pradesh cannot go stale.
He was referring to the remarks made by Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan in the recent speech in Kakinada town. It may be recalled that Pawan launched a scathing attack on Venkaiah Naidu terming the package from the Centre as rotten laddus (పాచిపోయిన లడ్డులు ).
“Does money go rotten? The money in the name of package can be used for the development programmes,” Venkaiah quipped while interacting with media persons in Hyderabad.
Flaying the way Pawan Kalyan made remarks against him during self-respect meeting in Kakinada, Venkaiah once again refused to comment on the Jana Sena leader saying people who has political knowledge do not dare to comment him.
“Though I am not elected from the State of Andhra Pradesh, I have made every effort to bring justice to the State. Do you just want special status without IIMs, Central institutions, IITs, national highways,” Venkaiah questioned.
He further claimed that no State in the country could have so far able to see development without assistance from the Central government.
Later, Venkaiah Naidu along with Telangana Minister T. Harish Rao visited Khairtabad Ganesh in the city and performed special prayers to the Lord.
