Superstar Mahesh Babu’s silver jubilee film is going to be directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Star producers Aswini Dutt and Dil Raju will jointly bankroll this highly anticipated film. As the extensive pre production phase has been wrapped up, the regular shooting is expected to commence from next month. But, dark clouds are hovering on the start of this project as producer Prasad V Potluri has moved court to stay the project. Here is the detailed story :
Flashback to Aagadu :
Mahesh Babu’s career was going through a patchy phase after the embarrassing debacle of Aagadu. Post this film, he signed a two film deal with PVP banner. As per the agreement, Mahesh was supposed to do two films in four years and PVP promised a hefty remuneration which was very high at that time. Following this agreement, Mahesh worked with Srikanth Addala for Brahmotsavam in PVP banner. The film ended as a huge dud at box office.
Agreement with Vamshi Paidipally after Oopiri
At the same time, PVP also produced Vamshi Paidipally’s Oopiri and scored a decent hit. After this film, Vamshi committed to do another film for PVP banner and this is supposed to be with Mahesh Babu. Later, due to some differences with PVP, Vamshi suddenly announced that Dil Raju and Aswini Dutt will bankroll Mahesh25.
Irked by Vamshi’s decision, PVP lodged a complaint in film chamber against the director for not abiding his agreement and also threatened to move court.
Court stay on Mahesh25 :
After Vamshi and PVP didn’t come to a compromise, the latter has moved court and got a stay on the project. PVP claimed that he paid expenses for story development and other pre production work to Vamshi Paidipally. He also claimed that Mahesh Babu agreed to do another film for his banner.
Now, all eyes are on the court hearing which will be out on June 4th. PVP is in plans to move a higher court if the judgement doesn’t go his way. He wants to delay the project at any cost.
Being one of the producers for the project, Dil Raju tried to settle the tussle. He approached PVP to bring a compromise with Vamshi and Mahesh. But, PVP was reluctant to meet him and Dil Raju’s attempt proved to be futile. With no option left,he is also now waiting for the court’s judgement.
Either way, it is troubled times for this much awaited project. We have to wait and see how long will this protracted tussle delays Mahesh Babu’s landmark film.
