The biopic specialist Ramgopal Varma seems to have cooked up too much by adding his own masala to make his latest movie âVillathi Villain Veerappanâ interesting. But, the slain sandalwood brigandâs wife Muthulakshmi is not impressed by the sensational directorâs maneuvers.
Muthulakshmi, the only eyewitness to Veerappanâs personal deeds and dare devilish activities, alleges that the story penned and directed by RGV is far away from the true story. She, hence, appealed to Kollywood audience not to watch the movie.
“Being Veerappan’s wife, I only know my husband’s personal life. I really do not know how this film director Varma has made this movie. I have lived with him (Veerappan) for four years and my two daughters were born in the forest. Nobody knows his personal life and his background. I appeal to people not to watch this movie. What does Varma know about Veerappan?” said Muthulakshmi.
A thorough professional RGV had in fact met Muthulakshmi before making the movie but she is apparently miffed at RGVâs decision to make it in other languages than Hindi.
“Ram Gopal Varma told me that he would make a movie on Veerappan in Hindi and I signed on the relevant documents also. I don’t know English, so Varma easily deceived me. Contrary to what he told me, Varma started releasing the movie in all languages one after another,” rued Muthulakshmi. RGV made the biopic on Veerappan in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages. Tamil version Villadi Villain Veerappan movie released on July 1 in Tamil Nadu. The ratings of the movie are not so inspiring so far.
Muthulakshmi had announced in April 2015 that RGV met her way back in 2007 and collected a lot of facts related to her husband, who was known as the modern Robinhood by many.
RGV faced similar charges after the release of âRaktacharitraâ, a movie based on the bloody conflict between Paritala Ravi, the then Telugu Desam Party MLA and Suri, his assassin. Some TDP cadres staged dharna in front of theaters forcing RGV to delete few scenes from the movie.
It is to be seen whether RGV would buckle under the pressure from Muthulakshmi and take scissors to remove some portions to cool her down. Interestingly, RGV hasn’t reacted on twitter on this latest controversy yet.
