Director of Mines and Geology, Venkat Reddy, is simply uttering blatant lies on sand mining in the State, said TDP national spokesman, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, on Tuesday.
“Venkat Reddy should first stop slandering the media and malaigning the TDP for thoroughly exposing the looting of sand reserves by Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Mines and Geology Director should answer the questions raised by us,” Pattabhiram told media persons here. If the Jaiprakash Power Ventures is really continuing the mining of sand in the State and if the term of the contract with the company is really extended why the State Government is not making public the details, he asked.
If the Jaiprakash Power Ventures are operating the sand mining in the State, why they have failed to submit the GST returns since 2023 May, Pattabhi questioned the State Government. How and why the way bills are being issued in the name of Jaiprakash Power Ventures when the company has not submitted the GST returns.
Stating that it is amply clear that it is not Jaiprakash Power Ventures but Jagan Reddy and his sand mafia who have been operating the sand reaches, Pattabhi said. He asked the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which is claiming that free sand supply by the TDP government is wrong, can not witness the glaring looting of sand by the Jagan and his associates.
Making it clear that the TDP will lodge a complaint with the CID with proper evidence on the looting of sand reserves, Pattabhiram asked whether the CID is dare enough to file an FIR with Mr Jagan as Accused no 1 and Minister, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy as A-2 and Venkat Reddy as A-3 in the case and conduct the investigation.
Pattabhi is of the firm opinion that the sand mafia of Jagan will come into light only if the Central agencies like the Vigilance Cell, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Jagan Reddy is planning to win the coming elections by purchasing votes spending thousands of crores with the money looted through liquor, sand and other scams, he said. Observing that the TDP has already complained to the Central agencies against the sand mafia in the State, Pattabhiram said that unless the CBI, the ED and the Vigilance Cell take up the matter the sand looting will not come into light.
If the CID fails to file the FIR on the sand looting by Jagan and his associates, the TDP will take a legal recourse to take the matter to the logical end, Pattabhiram added.
