Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said the opposition party was suffering from poverty of ideas. Participating in the debate on the International Women’s day, Naidu supported the proposal for a 33 per cent reservation for women in the legislative bodies. He said he would move the resolution in the House to be sent to the centre. ” Let a new woman’s era begin in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Mody,” he said moving the resolution. The resolution was adopted by voice vote.
” Opposition should have suggested this. It’s unfortunate that he ( leader of opposition) had no suggestion to make on this in the House,” the CM said motioning at the opposition benches. “They suffer from poverty of ideas. Not once they offered a constructive suggestion to the government. An opposition should be able to suggest something good to the government now and then,” the CM said.
Later, Assembly speaker administered the oath for the empowerment of , equality and justice for women by the members of Assembly.
