Age is just a number? Absolutely, at least for these veteran politicians. DMK supremo Karunanidhi and CPM leader Achutanandan are getting ready to rule their respective states. If the exit poll predictions will become a reality, then Tamil Nadu and Kerala may get the chief ministers at the age of 90+.
Karunanidhi, who is called Kalaigner by the party cadre is the man who will become the CM, if his party wins in Tamil Nadu. But his son Stalin may run the show. Karuananidhi can not walk and he moves anywhere in a wheel chair. He has a rare political record of taking oath as the CM for six times till date. It was 1962 when he took over as the Chief Minister.
Achutanandan is a vetaran CPM leader in Kerala. He has served as the CM, from 2006 to 2011. He is nationalist and supported India, during the war with China in 1962. Some top leaders did not like his stand, as a result he was demoted in the party.
Achutanandan has faced many troubles during his tenure as the CM from 2006 to 2011. Even he was denied the party ticket in 2011. But later the party gave him the ticket to contest in the elections.
If DMK wins in Tamil Nadu, then Karunanidhi will be the CM. If CPM wins in Kerala, then it is the party to decide the CM, probably it could be Achutanandan.
