Warangal: While the investigators are cracking whip on gangster Nayeem’s associates, another Nayeem has surfaced in Warangal district.
At a time when the victims of the revolutionary-turned-renegade are heaving a sigh of relief in Telangana following his encounter by the Telangana police, another ‘Nayeem’ started to haunt the businessmen in Warangal district.
A petty merchant from Mulugu mandal in the district approached the police complaining that he was being harassed by a person who is claimed to be Nayeem for the past one week. The merchant rued that the person on phone threatened to kidnap his sons if he refused to give Rs 3 lakh. The claimed person (Nayeem) also warned the merchant that no police could dare to arrest him.
The accused, who called the merchant two weeks ago, started conversing as a well known person initially. Later, he went on to warned the merchant of kidnapping the latter’s son, who is studying in a college close to city. Registering a case against the accused, the police launched a hint to catch him. Warangal SP Ambar Kishore Jha has made arrangements for the safety of the victim’s children.
Meanwhile, the police traced the phone number of the accused to a person residing in Chakalivada near Singareni colony in Khammam district. However, the accused is making calls from East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh.
