Union Home Minister and BJP National President Amit Shah was available in Delhi throughout Monday. He met with Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Aravind and discussed latest situation in Telangana. However, he had not given appointment to AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy who has been eagerly waiting for the meeting since morning. Jagan even waited till late into night for a call. The Shah Office has not even confirmed the likelihood of Jagan appointment on the second day of his Delhi visit today.
Is it because of the personal nature of Jagan’s visit that Amit Shah is avoiding him? The BJP Delhi leaders are full of speculation that the AP CM is unlikely to get any personal favours from the Union Home Ministry on the issue of his Rs 45,000 Cr CBI illegal assets cases. They recalled how senior BJP leader Uma Bharathi lost her Union Ministerial berth because of the non-bailable warrant issued by the court. The BJP government at the Centre had also taken similar stand not to interfere in respect of Tamilnadu Ex CM Jayalalithaa’s cases. The Shah Office is considering Jagan visit as not related to AP State issues but purely personal because of the ongoing case in CBI Court for exemption from personal court appearances.
