Chief minister Chandrababau asserted the he would not allow any inquiry into charges of large scale purchases in insider trading leave alone CBI inquiry.
“CBI inquiry will damage the reputation of capital. You want to stop the project with CBI inquiry. You want to consign the project to flames,” Naidu fumed in the Assembly in the debate on the charges opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy made against the ministers. The charge was that the ministers and MLAs resorted to large scale purchase of lands in the capital region armed with the information about the capital location beforehand.

Jagan, however, reiterated his demand for CBI inquiry. He recalled how his father the then chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy volunteered for a CBI inquiry when TDP made allegations of impropriety in the construction of Outer Ring Road.
Minister Kamineni Srinivas and Palle Raghunath Reddy also demanded proof or apology. Jagan, stating that the CM was not ready for a CBI inquiry, continued his address amid the slogans from the treasury benches.
