Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy today staged walk-out from the Assembly protesting all-round failure of TDP government in creating job opportunities for the youth of the state even after 2 years in power. This issue had been raised in the question hour today in Andhra Pradesh assembly.
Launching frontal attack on state government and the ruling party’s poll manifesto, Jagan said not a single youth had got employment in the state, creating financial crisis in the families. He accused the state government of cheating the people with false promises for votes before elections.
” TDP leaders went round every household in the state with a pamphlet that promises a job to a family if the party came to power. In case there was no job, an unemployed allowance of Rs 2000 per person had been assured. In order to lend credence to the promise, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu himself signed the paper. It was emphatically told to every household that Naidu had signed the handbill. The slogan of the campaign was Babu Vastaud (Chandra Babu will come) and Job vastundi (jobs follow). Where is the job and where is the allowance?” the opposition leader questioned.
He said the DSC had been conducted 18 months back and students had been anxiously waiting for the results. ” There are about 1.75 crore households in the state. Chandrababu Naidu cheated every household in the state by promising job and unemployed allowance and backing out on this,” he alleged.
It was reported at the time of bifurcation of the state that there were about 1, 42, 800 jobs available in the state and not a single vacancy had been filled in the state. ” Instead of providing livelihood to the families by providing jobs to the youth, Naidu’s government is rendering thousands jobless. Anganwadi volunteers want decent remuneration while employees working on contract basis fighting for regularisation. As if it is not enough the government is planning to cut 7000 jobs stating they are in excess of what is required. Gopalmitra and Adarsha rytus have been sacked,” he said and added that the TDP government had taken a complete u turn on the jobs.
He said they couldn’t remain idle when so much injustice was being done to the youth and unemployed of the state. Jagan announced that his party would walk out of the House in protest against government failure to provide jobs to the youth of the state. He lead the walk-out. Earlier party MLAs Srikanth Reddy, S V Mohan Reddy etc also participated in the debate.
