Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s periodic movie Padmaavat has been opposed by a section of Rajputs however the film managed to hit the screens and it received exceptional response. Now the latest movie to join the list is Manikarnika which is based on the life story of Rani Laxmibai – The Queen of Jhansi. Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha, a brahmin outfit demanded a ban on the film. They requested the Government of Rajasthan to stop the film’s shoot and they demanded the makers to share the complete story of Manikarnika.
“The film doesn’t have anything objectionable about Rani Laxmibai and we have not distorted the history” confirmed Kamal Jain, the film’s producer. Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha wanted the shoot of the film to be kept on hold till the entire story of the film will be shared. The film is being shot at Malsisar town in Jhunjhunu currently. Krish is the director of the film and Kangana Ranaut is playing the title role as Rani Laxmibai.
