Reacting for the second time on Kapu reservation issue, Jana Sena president and movie star Pawan Kalyan urged the state government to engage the protagonist of Kapu reservation movement Mudragada Padmanabham in talks. As usual he used his twitter handle to make the suggestion to TDP government led by Chadrababu Naidu. He said a group of intellectuals should be entrusted with the responsibility of finding a solution to the vexed issue of reservations to Kapus, which was the poll promise of TDP during 2014 elections.
In the meantime, Mudragada’s fast unto death entered day three today. Even though doctors requested him to undergo medical examination, the Kapu leader refused stating that he was alright. ” My life is dedicated to the cause of Kapus. Why are you worried about my health? Nothing will happen to me. A man in Pujab did fast for 66 days. Science has not set a duration for the man to remain in fast,” he told doctors.
Today Mudragada clarified that there won’t be any further talks on his demands with the government.” I don’t entertain any negotiation with the government. Nothing short of BC status to Kapus is acceptable to us,” he told media this afternoon.
Expressing resentment over the lack of response from chief minister Naidu, he said, ” if the chief minister is adamant, I am doubly adamant.”
Around 11.30 AM when the joint collector along with the team of doctors were persuading him to undergo medical checkup, police entered the room creating panic among the family members and followers. They asked his wife to go inside. But, Padmanabham protested the entry of police into his without notice. He warned them, if they enter his room, he would shift his base inside and bolt the room to continue his fast. Today, large number of woman made a beeline to his residence to have a look at the fasting leader and his wife.
