Superstar Rajinikanth enjoys a huge fan base irrespective of the results of his films. The actor completed shooting for Darbar, a mass entertainer which presents Rajinikanth in the role of a cop. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is currently in the final stages of post-production. Rajinikanth is said to have charged Rs 100 crores as remuneration for the project. The film is made on a budget of Rs 150 crores excluding Rajinikanth’s remuneration.
Rajinikanth plays the role of a Director General of Police (DGP) who goes on a mission to Mumbai. Murugadoss says that the film also has an emotional drama which is the major highlight of Darbar. Nayanthara is the leading lady and Lyca Productions bankrolled Darbar. The film is slated for Tamil, Telugu and Hindi release on January 9th 2020 during Sankranthi.
