The BJP government at the Centre has almost decided to appoint two new Governors for the twin Telugu states. Present Governor ESL Narasimhan is likely to be moved to Delhi where he may become Advisor on Jammu & Kashmir affairs. The main reason is stated to be the fact that Narasimhan has been Governor for nearly 10 years. The Centre is thinking that it’s no longer correct to continue him.
There’s also speculation on BJP Telangana President Laxman comment on the certainty of Narasimhan’s transfer once the NDA comes to power in 2019 election. The BJP leaders are long asking for transfer of Narasimhan considering the fact that he was a Congress government appointee but somehow continued through AP division process.
Moreover, the two states are fully running their administrations from their respective Capital cities. AP has got a separate High Court in Amaravati now.
There are also reports that former union minister Sushma Swaraj may be made AP Governor.
