UAE-based Indian billionaire BR Shetty stepped out with an announcement that he is all set to produce India’s costliest film ever and it is based on the epic Mahabharata. Malayalam filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon will direct the movie and the pre-production work is on. The regular shoot of the film will start from May 2018 and the movie will be shot extensively in India, Srilanka and in Dubai. The movie is said to be made on a budget of Rs 1000 crores and many leading Indian actors will play crucial roles in Mahabharata.
As per the update we hear, the film will last for six hours and it will release in two parts. The first part will release in 2020 and the second installment will hit the screens 100 days after the release of the first part. Shetty revealed that he is all set to make 1 billion USD in revenue with Mahabharata. The film will be shot in English, Hindi and Malayalam. It will be dubbed into all the Indian regional languages. Mohanlal has been locked to play the lead role and the other cast will be announced in the coming months.
