SPYder Audio Review
SPYder Music Review
Harris Jayraj is one of the top rated music composers in South. He reunited with AR Murugadoss for Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film SPYder and the starry combination has set high expectations on the album. The audio, consisting of 4 full songs and 1 theme song has been unveiled today ( Sep 9th) in Chennai. Let’s see what Harris Jayraj has in store with this much awaited album.
Boom Boom
Singer : Nikhita Gandhi
Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry
The album starts with a booming title song which elevates the character of the protagonist who plays a spy in the film. The pulsating tune, which reminds of English album fifth harmony – worth it, will grow upon the listener with repeated hearings. Singer Nikhita Gandhi, with her effervescent vocals, ensures the liveliness in the song doesn’t drop at any point from the start till the end. Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry is at his usual best and his lyrics mirror the invincible qualities of the hero.
Ciciliya Ciciliya
Singer : Hari Charan, Shakti Sree
Lyrics : Ramjogayya Sastry
After a hero centric song, we now come across a crazy number ‘Ciciliya’ which is quite peppy with a lively orchestration. The flawless renditions by Hari Charan and Shakti Sree are beautifully backed by a rhythmic jazz tune from Harris Jayraj to make it one of the best songs in the album. The lyrics are adequate. This foot tapping number was shot in unexplored locales in Romania. Watch out for some eye pleasing visuals after the film’s release.
Haali Haali
Singer : Brijesh Tripati, Harini, Jogi Sunitha
Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry
A sense of Déjà Vu for music lovers as the third song in the album is reminiscent of Harris Jayraj’s Randaka Randaka from Aparichitudu. The trio of talented singers did complete justice and the Hindustani style folksy number needs a solid picturization with glitzy visuals to make it more appealing for audience. The lyrics are catchy and cheeky.
Achcham Telugandham
Singer : Pravin Saivi, Christopher Stanley, Sathya Prakash
Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry
Here comes the chartbuster song of the season. The final song in the album is a mesmerising romantic melody that is rich in orchestration with unmistakable lyrics. Gleefully sung by three singers with dulcet and soulful vocals, this song will have an instant impact on the listener for its irresistible foot tapping tune. Easily the best song in the album.
Theme song
The album ends with a thumping theme score which seems to be the background score during crucial scenes in the film.
Verdict : On the whole, SPYder might not be the greatest of Harris Jayraj’s albums, but definitely passes muster. He renders a mixed bag which is packed with a pulsating hero centric song, a peppy and groovy number, a typical folk song and an irresistible catchy romantic melody. While Achcham Telugandham will easily top the charts for its captivating tune, Boom Boom and Ciciliya Ciciliya will grow upon after repeated hearings. Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry did a satisfactory job and singers are at their usual best.
