After about three months of creating as many as 21 new districts in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is now focusing on providing them necessary infrastructure. He has decided that all the districts in the state, including 10 old districts, they should have uniform integrated collectorate complexes and also district police office complexes.
The design for the proposed integrated district collectorate complex for all the districts is ready. The layout will be uniform for all the district collectorates. Officials gave a power point presentation to Chief Minister on the design of integrated district Collectorate complex.
Chief Minister directed to invite tenders once designs are finalized and the construction should be done within a year. He also said that the proposed office complexes to have all the facilities for public and officers. However, as district collectorate offices at Sangareddy, Rangareddy and Nalgonda districts were constructed in recent times, Chief Minister suggested to continue them.
“The new office complexes will come up for the other 28 districts, for which funds will be allotted in the forthcoming budget and they should be completed within a year,” Chandrashekar Rao directed the officials. As the re-organisation of districts was done to decentralise the administration, he said that offices should be better equipped too for effective administration to the people.
He said that except police and fire service offices, all other administrative offices should be housed at one place in the districts. KCR added that adequate provisions be made for toilets, banks and a conference hall to accommodate about 1,000 people.
Meanwhile, the government is facing acute staff shortage to provide necessary manpower for the new districts. The shortage is more alarming in revenue department. As against the requirement of 4,200 personnel, half of them need to be recruited through State Public Service Commission, which would take more than a year time.
