An advocate hails from Telangana, presently practising at Supreme Court has the distinction of attending the swearing-in ceremony of Donald Trump as the 45th US President, tonight at the 58th formal presidential inaugural. Uday Kumar Sagar will be among the few Indian invitees to the ceremony.
He belongs to Narayankhed, 140 kms away from Hyderabad and is the advocate-on-record for the Telangana State government in the Supreme Court. He has been representing the state in several cases over the last few years.
Particularly, he has represented Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), in several cases against big real estate companies such as My Home constructions, DLF Home Developers and Prestige Garden Estate.
Incidentally, he is associated with BJP in New Delhi and among the four advocates who form the Legal Affairs Wing of the party at national level. However, he said that nothing to do with politics for him to get invitation to Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.
He is also neither connected to the Republican Party or election campaigning of Trump. According to him he happens to be `friends with some in the US’. Through some friends in US, he got official invitation to attend this ceremony. Along with invitation, he has also received air tickets.
