The complete solidarity and activism exhibited by the entire Tamil film industry in support of a common cause, on the issue of Jallikattu is making the people of Andhra Pradesh to focus their attention towards Telugu film heroes. Particularly their silence on the issue of Special Category Status makes them to feel sad about their own `heroes’
Andhra Pradesh Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi Convenor Chalasani Srinivas asked the Telugu film heroes to learn from the Jallikattu incident and take the lead in achieving the special status for the state. Recalling that how Tamil film personalities playing pro-active role by standing in solidarity with their people on various issues, he questioned the silence of heroes like Chinrajeevi and Balakrishna.
He said it is time for film heroes to show their `real heroism’ by standing with people. He said that people of Andhra Pradesh should choose either Vizag beach or the Krishna river bed to launch people’s protest in achieving the special status.
Only Pawan Kalyan, as President of Jana Sena Party, from Telugu film industry, responding many times on this issue. He even urged the people to take inspiration from Tamils’ spirit and fight for special category status.
Acharya Nagarjuna University former Vice-Chancellor Prof Viyanna Rao said that the people should have the resolve to achieve the special status. “The people of Tamil Nadu proved that anything can be achieved by unity and determination”, he added.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress Party Visakhapatnam district president Gudiwada Amarnath said that they will be organising candle light demonstration at RK Beach on January 26 seeking special status.
