Nobody can become born actors, they are made- Taapsee Pannu has proved this point time and again with her remarkable journey in the film industry. The real key lies when an actor understands which area needs improvement and brings about the same to it. When this fair-skinned beauty made her debut in Jhummandi Naadam opposite Manchu Manoj, people only looked at her glamorous side. She was bubbling with energy and had a striking smile throughout. But the real challenge was how she would emote for scenes where she should underplay.
Most of Taapsee’s earlier films including Krishna Vamsi’s Mogudu or Chandrasekhar Yeleti’s action-adventure Saahasam had her emote with loudness and a bit brashfulness. This brought her much criticism as well but the actress did not succumb to it. She rediscovered her acting skills and understood her tremendous potential as a performer.
Instead of falling for the trap of glamor and eye candy, Taapsee chose the tougher route of being a performer. Her choice of films involved where she was supposed to underplay instead of swarm the audience with emotions. Her role as a captive in Amitabh Bachchan starrer Pink is a classic example of it. Her strong-willed nature is not just reflected in her film choices but also in her statements off the camera.
Taapsee has wonderfully blossomed not just as an actress but also as a person at various levels. Her recent film Game Over earned much accolades and appreciation for her disciplined performance. She has come a long way from the high voltage actress to an actress who can modulate her performance based on the role’s demands.
Telugu360 wishes Taapsee a very happy birthday and a great year ahead on and off the screen!
