Tollywood had a dull 2019 and so far 13 films managed to make money at the box-office. The buyers suffered huge losses for most of the films because of the poor content. Here is the list of films that made money this year at the box-office:
F2: Venkatesh and Varun Tej’s comic entertainer F2 is a smashing box-office hit. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film raked massive revenues in its final run and emerged as the Sankranthi winner. Dil Raju produced F2.
118: Nandamuri Kalyanram who has been struggling for success made his comeback with an action thriller 118. KV Guhan directed this thriller and the film raked decent revenues in its final run.
Majili: Naga Chaitanya and Samantha teamed up after a long gap for an emotional drama. The film emerged as the biggest hit in the career of Naga Chaitanya till date. Shiva Nirvana is the director and Shine Screens produced the film.
Chitralahari: After half a dozen flops, Sai Tej received relief with Chitralahari. Taking the advantage of summer, the film ended up as a decent grosser leaving the buyers in slight profits.
Jersey: Natural Star Nani will cherish his sports drama Jersey throughout his career. The film collected well across multiplexes and ended up as a decent grosser. Other rights fetched huge profits for the makers. Gautam Tinnanuri directed Jersey which presented Nani as a cricketer.
Maharshi: Superstar Mahesh Babu broke his May jinx with Maharshi. This emotional drama released during summer and raked very good revenues in its final run. Vamshi Paidipally is the director and Pooja Hegde played the female lead in this emotional social drama.
Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya: Tollywood got a new and promising actor Naveen Polishetty through Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya. The crime thriller raked good revenues and ended up as a surprise hit of the season.
Brochevarevarura: Promising actor Sree Vishnu tested his luck with Brochevarevarura which is a laugh riot. The film collected good revenues across the multiplexes and left profits for the buyers and the makers.
Oh Baby: Samantha Akkineni is back with a bang with Oh Baby and the film is a smashing box-office hit. Oh Baby proved that Samantha is a Superstar and can experiment with unique scripts. Nandini Reddy directed the film.
ISmart Shankar: Sensational director Puri Jagannadh is back with a mass entertainer ISmart Shankar and his thirst for success is fulfilled with the film. Ram, Nabha Natesh and Nidhhi Agerwal are the lead actors. ISmart Shankar raked Rs 40 crores in its full run.
Rakshasudu: Bellamkonda Sreenivas switched paths and tested his luck with a crime thriller Rakshasudu. The film managed to end up as a decent grosser in its final run. Ramesh Varma directed Rakshasudu.
Evaru: Adivi Sesh continued to thrill the audience with an interesting thriller Evaru. The film minted good revenues across multiplexes and left profits for everyone involved. Regina is the leading lady and Venkat Ramji made his directorial debut with Evaru.
Gaddalakonda Ganesh: Harish Shankar and Varun Tej teamed up for the first time for Gaddalakonda Ganesh and the film impressed the masses. Though it could not bring huge profits, Gaddalakonda Ganesh managed to be decent in the final run.
