Indicating the shape of the things to come in forthcoming GHMC elections, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti, bagged four of six local bodies constituencies of Legislative Council. Though elections are notified for 12 seats, polling needed for only 6 constituencies while the candidates in rest had been declared elected unanimously. What is significant of the present round of elections is that TRS candidates won from the constituencies close to the GHMC area. They are likely to influence the outcome of the GHMC election in favor of TRS. The notification for GHMC polls is expected in a day or two. The series of victories for the TRS gives an impression that the pink party is inching towards becoming strongest force in Greater Hyderabad also.
Giving a breather to the Opposition Congress, two of its candidates won the from Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts. While former MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy won the Nalgonda seat with a huge margin of 192 votes proving that the Nalgonda district is still impregnable fortress for Congress, Damodar Reddy returned from Mahabubnagar.
In Mahabubnagar’s second constituency, following the second preferential vote counting, the result has gone in favor of Congress candidate Damodar Reddy.

In Khammam TRS candidate Balasani Lakshminarayana won the election defeating CPI veteran Puvvada Nageswara Rao, who gave tough fight form the ruling party though. While TRS secured 313 votes, Puvvada got 275 votes. YSR Congress ended up as third with 102 votes.
In Nalgonda, Congress candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy polled 616 votes while his nearest rival TRS Chinnapa Reddy got 449 votes.
TRS emerged victorious in Ranga Reddy district as well where its performance in 2014 election was not up to par. The two vacancies in RR district have been bagged by TRS. Patnam Narender Reddy and S Raju of TRS defeated TDP and Congress candidates.
Patnam Narender Reddy and Shambipur Raju of TRS defeated their Congress and TDP rivals respectively.
In another achievement noted educationist Kasireddy Narayana Reddy of TRS won one of the two seats in Mahabubnagar district.
