Telangana state is getting ready for the first Krishna nadi Pushkaralu in the state scheduled next year. Krishana Pushkaram takes place during the transit of Bruhaspati(Jupiter) into Kanya Rasi (Virgo Zodiac Sign). Celebrated once in 12 years, next Puskharam commences on August 12, 2013 and come to a close on August 23, 2016. The pushkaram was celebrated in 2004 in united Andhra Pradesh. Since this is the first pushkaram, Telangana government is planning a massive festival on the occasion.
Industries minister Jupally Krishna Rao reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming Krishna Pushkaralu-2016, at Kollapur. He instructed the officials to prepare action plan for 54 Pushkara Ghats. The amenities at all the temples along the banks of river Krishna and in en route villages will be improved. As part of this Q-lines, Colours, Temporary pandals renovations, illuminations, pilgrims sheds will be developed.The minister instructed that Prasadam etc should be made available in sufficient quantity and more counters should be put up so that the public need not wait in long queues causing unnecessary delay.
Instruction have been issued to lay new roads and repair wherever they are damaged, to provide toilets in sufficient numbers at all bathing ghats and other important public places. Sufficient number of showers dressings rooms will be provided at all ghats and important places where public gather during the pushkars. For provide hygienic drinking water, RO plants will be set up in good numbers so that the public is not put to hardship. Shades will be put up in all the places to serve as protection from rains in case of sudden downpours.
TSRTC has been advised to prepare action plan to identify Bus bays and other amenities along with requirement of Buses for the next Pushkaralu. authorities to setup Bus-Stop in all ghats and ply their buses from District Head Quarters, Mandal Head Quarters to the ghats, Beechupally, Somashila, Pathalaganga, Krishna, Nadiagraharam, Chintarevula, Lingala Ghat and all other places as shown above. The Asst. Director, Fisheries, Mahabubnagar to post swimmers in all ghats to prevent untoward incidents in river. The Superintendent of Police, Mahabubnagar to depute police personnel in all ghats temples, parking areas and bus- stations for controlling the pilgrims.
The Dist. Medical & Health Officer to depute medical staff in all ghats, temples and Bus-Stop, opening of primary health centers for pilgrims use at all centers. Later the Minister along with the District collector, Joint collector, and other officials visited the proposed pushkar ghats are along with the river Krishna in Mahabubnagar .
