The TTD Trust Board Meeting, which took place under the Chairmanship of Dr Ch Krishnamurthy at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Saturday, approved its annual budget for the year 2016-17 with an estimated outlay of Rs.2678.07crores.
The board has approved to conduct Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavams for five days instead of nine days from February 7-12 at Hyderabad.
Highlights of the TTD budget :
* TTD expected to receive Rs. 1010 crore from capital funds (as kanuka) from devotees, which would be the major earning , while Rs.300 Special Entry Darshan was expected to fetch a minimum of Rs. 209 crores for the financial year.
* TTD is expecting to garner Rs.778.93cr as interest on investments, Rs.114.5 cr on accommodation and Rs.55 cr through Arjitha Seva tickets.
* Similarly, the payment of wages and salaries was expected to be the major outgo, to the tune of Rs. 500 crore.
* For this financial year, an estimated Rs. 150 cr is estimated to be earned towards the sale of human hair
* An amount of Rs.160 cr towards engineering works, Rs.121 cr for HDPP, Rs.93.20 on Education, Rs.108.84 cr towards health and Sanitation and FMS, Rs.67.87 cr on Vigilance and security, Rs.62.82 cr for hospitals.
