It looks like the ‘plagiarism row’ is going to haunt the makers of Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi even though they made a monetary settlement with T – series, the holder of copyrights of Largo Winch – a French novel from which the story and many scenes of Agnyaathavaasi were blatantly lifted by Trivikram Srinivas. As Telugu360 reported a couple of days ago, the producer of Agnyaathavaasi has settled the issued by forking out a huge amount for the copyrights infringement. But, that is not likely to brush the issue aside as they would have thought.
Jerome Salle, the French director, who turned the novel into a feature film, is hinting of an imminent sue on the makers of Agnyaathavaasi over plagiarism charges. Just a while ago, he tweeted that a settlement with T-series is not sufficient. He added that the movie has been released worldwide and not only in India.
So, Jerome is possibly hinting that he is going to proceed legally if the producer fails to settle his demands, whatever may though. If this the case, it is likely to land Trivikram and his producer in troubled waters. We have to wait and see how the plagiarism issue traverses from here on with the twist given by the French director.
Earlier today, Jerome watched Agnyaathavaasi and expressed displeasure over the familiar storyline and scenes which were lifted from his work.
Here is director of 'Largo Winch' in response to our Tweet that settlement just with T-series in not sufficient.
