The AP (TDP) Government has begun wooing the ‘educated’ voters. The ‘unemployment assistance’ scheme which the TDP promised in its elections manifesto will go into action from next month. Sources close to the government have confirmed that the government will disburse Rs 1500 and Rs 2000 for unemployed youth with Inter and Degree/PG qualification from either June 2nd or June 8th.
Following is the eligibility criteria to avail the ‘Unemployment Assistance’:
- The individual should be from BPL (Below Poverty Line) family.
- Wetland shouldn’t exceed over 2.5 acres, and Dryland not more than 5 acres
- An individual is eligible even if someone from the family is taking (social) pension from the government.
- Kids of the Govt. employees who have taken VRS are also eligible. The govt. is yet to take a decision on whether to implement the scheme even for kids of the individuals working as govt. employees currently.
The latest move from the TDP government is a clear indication of its strategy to woo the voters. ‘This is nothing but an election move. TDP govt. wants to make sure it could hold the voters. What happened all these four years? Aren’t there any unemployed youth all this while?’ questioned a political analyst.
