CM Jaganmohan Reddy and YCP leaders praise YSR a lot but they don’t approve of Operation Aakarsh which was started during YSR regime in AP. Whatever, Jagan took a very high moral stand against defections. Now, AP Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram also says that there should be such ethical values and high standards in legislature and parliamentary democracy. He felt that Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu should not have permitted the defection of 4 TDP Rajya Sabha MPs to the BJP. Sitaram would have taken a tough stand against the defecting elected leaders. The Speaker said that CM Jaganmohan Reddy had already clarified that there would be no problem of defections in Andhra and the YCP is totally against the practice.
Analysts say that the YCP leaders including the Speaker are increasingly upset over the changing political fortunes of Jaganmohan Reddy in Delhi power corridors. The 4 TDP MPs who joined BJP have become very close to Modi-Shah duo. This is increasingly threatening the lobbying power of YCP MPs in national politics. This is expected to give greater blows to Jagan party sooner than expected.
