Special Investigation Team setup by the government of Andhra Pradesh to probe into the Vishakhapatnam land scam on June 28 reportedly sought extension as the initial deadline of August 28 is about to end. The officials realized that it is not feasible to complete the investigation in two months and submit a comprehensive report. So consequently, they have asked additional two months of extension.
According to the sources of TNIE, officials will be successful in completing the task if they are given extra time. The SIT also requested for additional personnel. However, the government is yet to get back to them.
SIT so far received 2865 complaints of which 337 were related to the land scam. Around 220 complaints need to be probed while the other investigation of the other 100 is completed. The remaining of the two thousand odd complaints were sent to the collector and other related departments.
