The Telugu brothers across Telangana State are celebrating their State Formation Day on June 2 for the fourth consecutive year. The celebrations have already started in New Delhi and will go across the Telangana State for two days. There is joy everywhere with people exchanging greetings.
On the other hand, the AP has been wailing for the past four years with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu deciding to hold some events on June 2, the appointed day, in the name of ‘Nava Nirmana Deeksha’. He had started this in 2015 to condemn the injustice done to the State in the name of bifurcation and led people to take oath to work hard for the development of the State. This wailing continued in 2016 and 2017 and is all set to be repeated this year too. It starts on June 2 and continues till June 8, the day when Chandrababu Naidu assumed charge as Chief Minister in 2014.
Every day, Chandrababu Naidu lectures about the injustice done to the State by the Congress and lists out his achievements. He rules out the need for any celebration. There were suggestions that the State Formation Day be observed on October 1, when Andhra State was created from the Madras State or on November 1, when Andhra Pradesh was formed in 1956. There were also suggestions that the State Formation Day could also be observed on June 2, the day Telangana was created. But, Chandrababu Naidu did not accept these suggestions.
Interestingly, this year, while Naidu leads this moaning on June 2, the Opposition YSR Congress is planning to organise a betrayal day at Nellore on the same day. It is here Chandrababu Naidu’s moaning ends on June 8 with the ‘Maha Sankalpam’ pledge and a not less than two-hour long speech.
