T-Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy sees foul play in the YSRCP’s decision to field candidate in Warangal (SC) Lok Sabha constituency byelection. Questioning the motive behind the Lotus Pond’s decision to enter the fray, Sudhakar Reddy asked the party to tell who would benefit from their contest. Sudhakar suspected an understanding between the ruling party and the YSR Congress in Telangana.
“It is only with the intent of splitting the Congress votes that the TRS has encouraged the YSRC Congress to enter the fray in the byelection and the YSRC agreed to field a candidate,” he said.
Though the TRS might have won the election in 2014 with a huge majoriy, Sudhakar said, this time it not at all was cake walk for the ruling party. ” TRS will find the competition tough in Warangal. Congress has recovered and is giving tough fight in the election and a win look certain. In the grip of fear of defeat, TRS has encouraged the YSRC to field their nominally only create split in the anti establishment vote and pro Congress vote,” he said and added that this won’t work in Warangal.
