Demanding an unconditional apology from Chandrababu Naidu for his claim on demonetisation and taking a U-turn when the issue boomeranged, YSR Congress has said that people have a strong belief that it was the Chief Minister who has advised the Centre to pull out the higher denomination notes.
Party MLA and PAC Chairman Buggana Rajendranath Reddy today wondered that after claiming full credit for the demonetisation immediately after the Prime Minister’s announcement, Chief Minister has taken a sudden U-turn when things went out of hand and he owes an unconditional apology to the people who strongly believe that the exercise was taken up only on his advice.
The recent remarks of Chandrababu Naidu that they did not ask for the demonetisation is ridiculous after taking full credit for the exercise and TDP blowing the trumpet during Jana Chaitanya Yatras have convinced people that Prime Minister has taken the step based on the letter written by the Chief Minister on October 12 itself, he said.
‘Now when things went out of hand, Chandrababu Naidu is trying to take cover under the criticism and making attempts to disown the demonetisation but that will not work and he owes an unconditional apology to the people,’ he added.
He felt the Chief Minister should have thought of the consequences while writing the letter and while taking credit for demonetisation as farmers and all sections of people are facing severe hardship and scarcity of cash flow.
Farmers who have deposited old currency were shocked to note that the amount was adjusted to the loans which were not waived. This rabi season the extent of sowing has come down drastically due to the demonetisation and Chandrababu Naidu had never asked anything from the Centre for farmers. On Pawan Kalyan, he said the film star has no clarity on various issues.
